Simon “Woolfy” James and Dan Hastie revived their Projections moniker in October 2021 with their acclaimed EP ‘Original Cell’, which was hailed as a “Balearic classic” and recently moonlighted on The Chillout Tent compilation with a new Chris Coco remix.

Clues for this surprise excursion can be found in their collaboration with Turbotito on the aforementioned compilation, or Woolfy & Lexx’s 2019 digi-reggae heater ‘Too Hot’. In actual fact Projections’ dubwise seam dates back all the way to the early aughts, and a certain dub plate cut in Japan...

The bumping disco reggae title track features respected players including Ricky Lucchese on trombone, James King on flute, and the falsetto vocal stylings of Malik Moore of The Lions, the Stones Throw-signed reggae soul band. The roots jam ‘Silverback Rock’ reaches its peak with Liam Philpot’s scorching baritone sax solo. On the flip, the Projections duo work up ‘Echophonic’ into extended & dubbed versions.
